Summers in northwest Arkansas can feel especially sweltering because on top of the heat, there’s the humidity. Air conditioners can help cool the air but do little for efficient dehumidification. Whole-house dehumidification systems are the best way to make sure you don’t have to suffer through that humidity in your house.

A proper humidity level is vital to maximizing comfort. A humidity level of between 30 and 60 percent is ideal for most people. This will also prevent other negative side effects of an atmosphere that is too moist. For example, mold and dust mites can thrive in damp environments, creating health hazards for you and your family.

A whole-house dehumidification system is a major investment and you want to make sure the one you purchase lasts. Make sure you get a system with at least a five-year warranty that will protect you from having to replace it anytime soon. This will provide you with peace of mind along with your enhanced comfort.

When selecting a dehumidification system, it is important to make sure that it will easily integrate with your current system. Check the specifications provided by the manufacturer. Any air system will have plenty of compatible systems but you need to know what will work in advance.

Some dehumidifier systems release ozone emissions. These are pollutants that can irritate your lungs, especially  if you already suffer from respiratory problems.

Smaller portable units are available but are much less effective. They can only have an impact on the air that directly surrounds them. To get the equivalent of a whole-house system, you would need at least two portable units in each major room of your house.  Whole-house systems are also much quieter and are kept completely out of sight.
