Could A Humidification System Benefit Your Northwest Arkansas Home?Although the northwest Arkansas area is humid during the summer, it tends to get quite dry during the winter. Dry weather can be a problem for many people, not to mention it can make for an uncomfortable environment in your home. Because of this, you should think about investing in a humidification system. There are two types of humidifiers to choose from: whole-house humidifiers and room humidifiers. Before you decide on one, consider these benefits for in-home humidification systems.

  • Save on energy costs – Not only does your home become more comfortable with a whole-house humidifier, you can actually cut down on your energy costs by using one. Raising the level of humidity in your house causes your home to feel warmer, meaning you don’t have to raise the thermostat as high as you normally would.
  • Easy to use – A whole-house humidifier can be installed onto your forced air furnace system.  Once it’s installed, all you have to do is set the humidity level you want. The air that your furnace warms up is automatically humidified. A room humidifier can simply be plugged in anywhere, although you do need to provide it with distilled water daily.
  • Easy maintenance – Whole-house humidifiers only need to be cleaned once or twice a year, making maintenance incredibly simple. Portable room humidifiers, however, need to be cleaned every few days of use.
  • Health benefits – Dry weather causes a lot of health problems, including dry skin, chapped lips, aggravating skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, allergy symptoms and respiratory problems with asthma. A humidification system can help to sooth many of these problems.
  • Low operating costs – Whole-house humidifiers are attached to your water system, meaning you never need to purchase water. At the very most, you will be spending a few extra cents a month for your water bill. Room humidifiers, on the other hand, need to have distilled water in order to properly function, which can add up.
