Ductwork Inspection: Here's Why You Might Need ItYour forced-air duct system is essential to the delivery of conditioned air to every room in your Arkansas home. If you haven’t had a thorough ductwork inspection in a while, you may be paying more to cool your home than you should be, and may not be enjoying the comfort level that you expect and deserve.

Your duct system routes air from your A/C, furnace or heat pump throughout your home. If the ducts are poorly designed, leaking, blocked or otherwise not working correctly, some air will be lost to unconditioned areas such as the attic and crawlspace, or may be routed to some rooms more than others. Your energy costs will be higher than necessary, and your family won’t be as comfortable as it should be.

A thorough ductwork inspection means all aspects of your duct system are examined for leaks, blockages and other issues. Hangers, seams and walls are checked for rust and corrosion as well as leaks to ensure your duct system is doing its job. Having leaks and damaged ducts repaired could save you as much as 40 percent on your energy bill every month. Sealing leaks – usually with mastic sealant or metal-backed tape, but not standard duct tape – means the air is being routed where it’s supposed to go, instead of being wasted. A professional inspection also will check airflow, using sophisticated tools to make sure the ducts are efficiently circulating air in your home.
